In 2002, an AS 350 broke the almost 30-year-old altitude record for helicopters by flying at a height of 12,954 m. In 2005, an AS 350 B3+ set a world record by landing on the summit of Mount Everest. In 2010, an AS 350 B3 rescued three mountaineers who had become trapped at 7,000 metres in the Annapurna region of Nepal, making it the highest-altitude mountain rescue ever made by a helicopter.
