Our team at Kitz-Ambulance GmbH/KitzAir GmbH recently successfully completed a challenging medical transport flight from Rijeka to Vienna in collaboration with the Samaritan Association of Tyrol (ASM). A patient suffering from acute heart failure needed to be transferred to Vienna General Hospital (AKH) for further treatment. A mobile heart-lung machine was used to make the transport possible.

Together with our team of specialists, we were able to safely transfer the patient to Vienna. This was the first time such a mission involving a mobile ECMO was completed during a flight. Thanks to the transport plan developed by our partner company Mobile Intensiv Medizin (MIM), the patient received optimal care from the ECMO team, which included a cardiologist, cardiac technicians, and intensive care physicians.
